The Vaccine Clinic is opening their  fifth clinic in east Houston.

In celebration of this event we will be offering all children's vaccines for free to any family in the Greater Houston-area. This offer will extend through February 13.

ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run



ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run set for February 27, 2010In its 23 years as Houston’s  only point-to-point 10K and 5K fun run/walk.

Each year ConocoPhillips has donated race registration entry fees to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Educational Fund.
 
The race begins at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Texas Ave. and Smith St. and finishes with a Texas-sized post race party at Minute Maid Park.

Marathon Oil Corporation Goes the Distance



Houston-based Marathon Oil Corporation, a long-time partner of AIDS Foundation Houston (AFH) in the fight against HIV/AIDS, is the title sponsor of the 21st Annual AIDS Walk Houston to be held on Sunday, March 14, 2010.

Donations made during AIDS Walk Houston are vital to ensure AFH can continue to support over 5,000 clients a year. With 75 percent of these clients living on $10,000 a year or less, every donation will provide much needed funds to support housing and basic necessities.

 No registration fee is charged and incentive prizes are available for $150, $500 and $1,000 fundraising levels. Corporate, community, social and school walk team participation is encouraged. The Web site will be updated regularly for important details about up-coming special registration events

TWO $5,000 SCHOLARSHIPS TO LOCAL DESERVING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS



Scholarship Details:

WHO:              Cat Lift Trucks, headquartered in Houston , is a leading manufacturer of quality and reliable lift trucks dedicated to providing excellent customer service.

WHAT:            Cat Lift Trucks will award two Houston-area high school seniors each with a $5,000 scholarship for their higher education pursuits. Applicants must plan to attend an accredited college, university or technical school within the state of Texas and be majoring in mechanical engineering or a business-related field.   

Students from public and/or private schools within Harris, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend , Galveston , Liberty , Montgomery and Waller counties are eligible to apply. Recipients will be chosen based on academic record, leadership, honors, narrative responses and participation in school and community activities.

WHEN:            Deadline – applications must be postmarked by Friday, April 2, 2010, 5 p.m.

This year’s scholarship recipients will be honored at the Cat Lift Trucks Scholarship Reception in May 2010

BARRON PRIZE FOR YOUNG HEROES


Children's book author T.A. Barron believes that today's youth can make a difference in their world. 
He created the Barron Prize for Young Heroes, which honors young people from ages 8 to 18  who have
planned and carried out extraordinary service activities to benefit their communities and/or the environment.
Winners receive $2500 to be applied to their higher education or their service project.
